Project Wizard - Select Languages

Use this sheet to set the original language of the source and add the initial languages to the project. A project must contain at least one language. Depending on your Sisulizer license there might be a limit in the number of languages in a project.

When you run Project Wizard Sisulizer will check if there are existing translations (i.e. existing localized file). If there are Sisulizer will prompt a message box that shows the avilable languages and lets you either accept or reject importing of the existing translations.

Available languages

Contains a list of available languages and sub languages. Add a language by dragging it to the Selected languages list, by double clicking the language, or by selecting the language and pressing the right arrow (->) button.

In most cases it is enough to add only main languages (e.g. French) to the project. A main language can usually support all the countries where the language is spoken. For example a localized French file will suffice for France, Canada, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. However, sometimes words or at least the spelling of words differs between two countries. For example, United States spell some words in a different way. In such case you can add a main language and a sub language for the same language. For example add English language first and then the English (United States ) sub language.

When creating localized items Sisulizer uses sub language/main language chain to get the correct translation. Then if there is a translation in the sub language (e.g. English (United States)) that value will be used, otherwise the translation in the main language (e.g. English) translation value.

If this tree list does not contain the language that you want to use, you can add a new language to the System languages list. Choose Tools | General menu to open General Settings dialog box and open Languages sheet. It lets you add new languages.

Selected languages

This list contains those languages that you have added to the project. You can remove a language from the project by selecting and pressing the Remove (x) button or the Del key. You can reorder the selected languages by dragging and dropping or by pressing Up and Down buttons.

You can add more languages later by choosing Project | Languages.

Select the original language of the source

Select the original language of the source item from the list. This is the language that the was used in original file or database. You can later change this value using the source dialog (right click the source name in the left side project tree and select Properties...).

You can set the default value to the original language list from the General Settings dialog. Choose Tools | General Settings menu and from there Language sheet.
