Text Rule
Use this dialog to specify a text rule. Text rules are used with text file localization.
Before item
A regular expression that specifies the string before the item.
After item
A regular expression that specifies the string after the item.
Sample
A string that shows the sample text using the given expressions.
Type
Specifies the type of the item. Possible values are:

| Ignore | Item contains a value that is ignored. | |
| Context | Item contains context value. | |
| Text | Item contains text value. This is either localized or imported depending on the purpose of the text definition. | |
| Comment | Item contains a comment value. | |
| Count | Item contains a count of the items in the file. | Only in the header fields of binary files |
| String length | Item contains the length of the string in characters if string is encoded as UTF-16. Otherwise this contains length of the string in bytes. | Only in the header fields of binary files |
| String size | Item contains the length of the string in bytes. | Only in the header fields of binary files |
Text item
Binds this comment item to a text item. This is visible only if the Type is set to comment and purpose of the definition is localize a file.
Language
Specifies the language of the current item. This is visible only of the Type is set to text.
Encoding
Specifies the encoding that the current item uses. This is visible only if the text file uses code page encoded (e.g. non-Unicode) character encoding.
How new line and other special characters are escaped
Specifies the escape method how line feed, carriage return and other special characters are encoded.
